Web Tools

I found that the irubric website was my favorite. It will help me with creating my own rubrics for later use. All the web tools we looked at tonight were very interesting and useful. I really liked the puzzle generator, because I can use it with my class, as well as, with my daughter.

Spring Break Blues

Spring Break is usually fun even though I still have to go to work. This week has not been very fun because my family and I have been sick all week. Working and being sick is not fun! We feel a little better, but we are definitely not out of the woods yet. I hope everyone else had a great spring break!

Facebook Professor

I truly feel that the professor did not intentionally set out to hurt anyone. I am sure she felt bemused by the prospect of teachers using the web to research information for their lessons. How is this any different than the teachers who use to do it the hard way? They still researched information for their lessons. But I feel that if a teacher is going to post comments like these on her Facebook account or any other similiar sites, they should make sure that only the ones they want viewing the material is allowed and all others are blocked.

Here are some websites I found for geometry

Midterm question blues

No Chris you are not alone. From question 31 - 35 was not some of the multiple choice questions we were to study. The blog said to study chapters 1 - 6 but I think those questions came from chapter 7 or 8.

Midterm essay questions

4. What role does technology play in the context of learning 21st century skills and content?
The role of technology in the 21st century classroom is to improve and enrich the students
learning abilities. When technology is used correctly, then student achievement increases.
Students are able to increase their test scores, increase their production and application of
real world knowledge, increase their ability to manage their learning, increase achievement of
students with special needs, and increase their depth of investigation, inquiry, and knowledge.

5. Give some examples as to how you would use concept-mapping tools to address different
learning styles.
Concept-mapping tools are very useful to both the teacher and the student in many ways.
I would use it to better organize my thoughts for each lesson. I would be able to see if what
I want to teach is to broad a scope for my students and if so, I would be able to modify my
plans then. I would know where to start with my lesson and where I want to be at the end of
it. I would be able to plan ahead, to know what materials and tools I would need for each
lesson. I would include activities that would enhance all the types of learning styles that my
students have.
